On 24 July 2026 we snapshotted the corpus: 429 postings marked active in Hong Kong, from 40 distinct employers. This piece ranks those employers by tracked posting count — with the caveats stated before the table, because for a ranking piece the caveats \u003Cem>are\u003C\u002Fem> the methodology.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Read these four caveats first:\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Col>\n\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>This ranks our tracked corpus, not the market.\u003C\u002Fstrong> Our collectors follow a fixed roster of employers. A bank we don't track scores zero here regardless of how hard it is hiring. Rankings answer \"who has the most tracked openings\", not \"who is hiring most in Hong Kong\".\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Postings were last re-verified between 15 and 29 May 2026.\u003C\u002Fstrong> \"Active\" means active as of that verification; some roles will have closed since.\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Posting counts are not headcount.\u003C\u002Fstrong> A single evergreen posting can absorb dozens of hires; a bank posting every seat individually will look bigger than one that pools them.\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Employer names were normalized.\u003C\u002Fstrong> \"Standard Chartered\" and \"Standard Chartered Bank\" are counted as one employer, as are the three renderings of JPMorgan Chase and the FWD entities. The honest qualifier: BEA lists roles individually and in volume on its careers site, and posting style affects counts (caveat 3). But even read conservatively, a homegrown bank matching the combined visibility of two American bulge brackets in tracked openings is not the market of 2022, when the story was global houses vacuuming up local talent.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>2. The American houses cluster tightly.\u003C\u002Fstrong> Goldman Sachs (32), JPMorgan Chase (22), Morgan Stanley (21) and Citi (21) sit within a narrow band — 96 tracked postings between four firms. For all the headlines about Wall Street trimming Asia, the shop windows we track are far from empty.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>3. Insurance and asset management are in the same league as banking's mid-table.\u003C\u002Fstrong> FWD Group at 18 out-posts UBS and DBS; BlackRock, Invesco and AIA at 9 are level with several global banks' Hong Kong counts. If you only scan bank career pages, you are ignoring a third of the table.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch2>Restricting to banking-tagged roles only\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\u003Cp>Because several employers above are insurers, asset managers or Big Four firms, we re-ran the ranking on the 261 Hong Kong postings whose industry tag contains \"banking\". We did not annualize, extrapolate, estimate market share, or compare against any prior period — this is our first published cut of this data, so there is no earlier like-for-like snapshot to compare to.
