About this role

The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with BlackRock's insurance companies globally. The group manages close to US$600bn of assets on behalf of c.500 insurance clients globally. As an Associate, you will work as part of a team of client-facing insurance specialists with deep understanding of industry trends, client needs, and BlackRock's capabilities across investment management, risk, and advisory.

Responsibilities

• Support senior Relationship Managers in managing and growing relationships with life and general insurance companies. Prepare for insurer client meetings including agendas, briefing materials, pitch books, and follow-ups. Coordinate responses to insurer-specific RFPs, DDQs, and governance reviews. Support portfolio reviews, asset allocation discussions, capital efficiency considerations, and mandate reviews. Assist with onboarding, funding, and ongoing monitoring of insurance mandates.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in institutional sales, insurance client coverage, investment consulting, or asset management. Direct experience covering insurance companies preferred. Strong understanding of insurance investment portfolios, ALM considerations, and capital-efficient solutions. CFA or FSA designation preferred. Fluent in Simplified Mandarin Chinese (writing and speaking) and English - Mandarin fluency is mandatory.
